Wadi Group

Wadi Group is a diversified agribusiness enterprise headquartered in Egypt, specializing in large-scale poultry integrations, animal nutrition, and food processing across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Established in 1984, the organization has evolved from a small-scale poultry operation into a vertically integrated conglomerate comprising 12 subsidiaries and 10 distinct brands. By controlling the agricultural value chain from grain handling to consumer-ready food products, the group addresses regional food security through a model of backward integration and biosecurity-driven land reclamation.

Market Position and Regional Footprint
The group operates across three primary sectors: Dawagen (poultry), Sina’at (industrial support), and Mazareh (agriculture). In Egypt, Wadi Group maintains a 19% market share in the poultry sector through its Katkoot el Wadi brand, which produces layer and broiler day-old chicks. Its regional influence extends to Sudan via Inmaa, where it holds a 50% market share as the sole grandparent poultry operator. Additionally, the group has expanded its industrial manufacturing into Turkey to serve the Caspian Sea basin, supported by a vision to further develop poultry sectors across the African continent.

Poultry Integration and Animal Nutrition
The Dawagen sector represents the core of the business, managing the full lifecycle from grandparent stock to day-old-chick production. This is supported by the Sina’at sector, which provides essential inputs including poultry feed under the A’laf Al Wadi brand and feed additives such as soya meal and mono-calcium phosphate through Idafat. To ensure supply chain efficiency, Wadi Group manages a logistics arm, NSSC, which handles 2 million tons of grain annually at the port of Alexandria, complemented by ground transportation services via Tawseel.

Agricultural Production and Industrial Solutions
Under the Mazareh sector, the group utilizes land reclamation through its Rula brand to supply raw materials for Wadi Food, a producer of olive oil, olives, and tomato paste. This agricultural activity serves a dual purpose; olive groves are strategically planted as biosecurity barriers for poultry sites because they do not attract viruses-carrying pests. Furthermore, the group’s Tabreed subsidiary holds a 70% share in the Egyptian market for industrial cooling cell pads, providing climate control solutions for greenhouses and poultry breeding environments.

The integration of logistics, industrial manufacturing, and primary production allows Wadi Group to mitigate supply chain volatility while scaling its agribusiness model across emerging African and Middle Eastern markets.
